After designing her first pattern, “Ansonborough,” for her son’s nursery in 2017, Katie Kelley Harris ("KK") launched KK Harris — a collection of artisanal Belgian linens, chintzes, and cottons.
Her inspiration comes from a variety of sources, including French design during the reign of Louis XIV, the elegance of the American Revolutionary period, hand-painted antique earthenware, and eighteen-century female botanists.
KK likes to joke that she has “the mind of a preservationist and the heart of a modernist.” Using a unique color palette of dusty pastel tones and vibrant metallic pigments, she is able to marry modern colors with traditional design, creating a storied interior that references history while still embracing progress.
