In 2011, Juliet Cornell founded Pukka Print following a lifelong love affair with interiors, textiles, and prints.
At the time, Juliet and her young family were living in Bombay, where she quickly immersed herself in Indian textiles and block printing. Having fallen in love with traditional Indian colors and chintz patterns, she designed her first collection, Hema, in 2011, working closely with local block carvers and printers whom she still works with to this day.
Back in England, Juliet has continued to build Pukka Print into what it is today, releasing collections like her Patni, Kalam, Medallion, and No. 10. Made up of soft aquas, dove blues, walnut browns, and blossom pinks — with touches of strong crimson and biting apple green — Juliet’s designs feature Indian botanicals, flowers, and foliage that beautifully merge with an English color palette. What results is a singular Anglo-Indian feel and look, reflecting Juliet’s passion for sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Indian prints as well as her innate understanding of English decoration and style.
